Yaritza has a background in qualitative research and community engagement and has held both nonprofit and public sector roles devoted to addressing disparities among underserved communities.
Background
She was a community health worker at Bronx Community Health Network, a healthcare non-profit, and at Montefiore Medical Group, where she spearheaded an opioid overdose prevention initiative and played an integral role in the community health education and promotion team.
She also worked at the New York City Mayor’s Office under the Deputy Mayor’s Office of Health and Human Services and has worked at U.S. Representative Adriano Espaillat’s (NY-13) Washington D.C. and Harlem district offices.
