Carla Argueta
Community Team — Chicago
Carla is an experienced policy and research professional with a passion for community empowerment.
Background
As a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School Government Performance Lab, she conducted criminal justice research and led a project within the Illinois Department of Corrections to identify opportunities to improve individuals’ re-integration into communities. Carla has also worked as an analyst in immigration policy at the Library of Congress’s Congressional Research Service, where she advised members of Congress and their staff on immigration matters, maintained relationships with the Department of Homeland Security, and completed a site visit to the McAllen, Texas border patrol station.
Her extensive background in community organizing, policy, and research made her the ideal choice to head Ichor’s Chicago office. She is fluent in Spanish.
Outside of work
Carla is a visual artist and loves to spend time doing portraits and figure drawing.
