Ben is a public policy expert with a deep knowledge of the interplay between policy, communications, and coalition building.
Background
As Policy Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), he was charged with crafting policy proposals based on complex polling information, briefing candidates and campaign staff, managing the debate prep program, and monitoring legislative and regulatory activity. Before that, Ben was a policy advisor on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Chairman Charles Schumer’s leadership committee, covering health, labor and pension policy issues. He also worked as a health policy advisor to Senators Chris Dodd and Tom Udall.
His policy expertise and his passion for serving communities, drawn from his time serving as a Peace Corps volunteer and community health educator in Nicaragua, brought him to Ichor as one of the first employees in 2015. Ben is fluent in Spanish.
Outside of Work
Ben was Northwestern University’s mascot Willie the Wildcat and as a native New Mexican is a Hatch green chile enthusiast.
